Electrolysis For Men

ELECTROLYSIS FOR MEN

Unsightly or unwanted hair can detract from the look you have carefully crafted through diet and exercise. More recently, a new breed of men has emerged in the western culture. Perhaps this is due to a correlation between feeling fit and healthy and feeling and looking good. No longer is there a stigma attached to men who are realizing the benefits of improving their appearance. Your physique, hairstyle and clothes reflect the image you want to convey.  For more than 100 years, electrolysis hair removal has offered a safe and permanent solution for both men and women.

Treatment

Many of our clients have used laser hair removal and topical hair removers (creams) but need additional assistance with stubborn areas. Male hair removal is often more difficult than female.  For effective hair removal, let our blend electrolysis method help with your problem areas such as pseudofolliculitis barbae (ingrown hairs on the face and back of neck), and hyperpigmentation (dark spots); other problem areas include: eyebrows, ears, hairline, back of neck, beard, chest and back.  It's a safe, permanent non-medical procedure.  Along with your electrolysis treatment, we will put you on  a regimental plan that has been  scientifically proven  to bring your ingrown hair problem under control, help eliminate your dark spots, and indentations  caused by ingrown hairs. Our Electrologist is licensed by the state of North Carolina.  We are highly skilled and experienced with specialized training in the treatment of razor bumps and dark spots affecting African American men and women

Razor Bumps

Pseudofolliculitis Barbae is a medical term for persistent inflammation caused by shaving. It is also known by the initials PFB or the phrases "razor bumps" or razor rash. Its a condition that is common in the beard area occurring in up to 60% in African American men, women and other people with curly hair. PFB is most common on the male face, but it can also happen on other parts of the body where hair is shaved or plucked. After a hair has been shaved, it begins to grow back.

Curly hair tends to curl into the skin instead of straight out of the follicle. PFB can make the skin feel itchy and look red, and in some cases, it can even look like pimples (See examples below). These inflamed papules or pustules can form especially if the area becomes infected.  Over time, this can cause keloidal scarring which looks like hard bumps of the beard area and neck. Shaving sharpens the ends of the hairs like a spear. The hairs then curve back into the skin causing pseudofolliculitis barbae.

"The Only Way That You Can Eliminate Ingrown Hairs Forever Is To Remove The Hair Permanently."

Hyperpigmentation (dark spots) are dark spots caused by ingrown hairs or where tweezing, shaving or waxing was performed repeatedly. These dark spots usually appear on the facial area, neck, and bikini line. The "blend method" of electrolysis is recommended for these problem areas. Our Electrologist is licensed by the state of North Carolina, and is skilled and experienced in the treatment of skin of color for those who are suffering from these conditions.
